Just writing down your goals instead of keeping them your head increases your chances of achieving them by 200% (source Jack Canfield). Even if you don’t think about them again your chances of reaching them is increased because they are now programmed in your subconscious.
101 Goals
Measureable = how much and by when

# 1 rule About Goals
Don’t beat yourself up if you don’t achieve your goals. They are simply targets to aim for. In fact you should set them so high that you probably won’t achieve them. They are the treasure, the ultimate dream you are aiming for.
Results Goals Vs Action Goals Vs Systems
SMART Or Result Goal – Lose 20kg by Dec 31 2016
Routine Action Goals – exercise for 30 min 5 days per week.
Enjoy the Journey not the end goal.
SMART or Results goals falls short in several areas and may actually be one of the many reasons most people fail to achieve their goals. They make us feel bad for not achieving them.
Routine Action Goals means there is a “prize” every time you complete the action
systematize your goals
Linear Vs exponential results
Top Reasons We Fail To Complete Our Goals
Top 3 reasons people fail to achieve their goals is:
- Distraction – Solution is to commit to solid blocks of time on one task and stay focused
- Failing slowly – Solution is to have single forward looking KPI to track improvement
- Perfectionism – Just take action and ship it. Don’t wait until it is perfect. Everything is a first draft that you can alway improve on. Focus on getting 80% of results from 20% of effort and not being perfect.
Have 1 Key Goal
Have a relentless focus and unwillingness to accept multiple goals.
Noah Kagan was Facebook’s 30th employee. The No. 1 insight he gained from working there: “When you are running your business, have one goal. That’s it.”
Kagan would continually approach Mark Zuckerberg with specific ideas for Facebook to make money. But Zuckerberg would always ask the same question: “Does it help us grow [users]?” If not, he wasn’t interested. That clear focus on growth “helped us clarify every decision,” Kagan said.
Now that he’s in charge of his own company, Kagan makes sure to have one key goal per year. For example, in 2014 Kagan’s business built a tool called SumoMe to help people grow their website. Their goal at the beginning of 2014 was to have SumoMe reach 1 billion people before the end of the year.
This was the result:

They hit it with almost unbelievable precision. Also see how this is not a linear growth path. Its exponential. In April 1, 25% of the way onto the year, the number of visitors is less than 1% of the target and final year result. I can show you a similar curve for the income to my business although my graph is stretched out over 6 years. I almost quit at the 25% mark (2 yrs) because sales were so slow. Soon after that we our growth shot up. and they have virtually and this is one of the biggest lesson to learn as a startup business. It
Your goals are better if they are based on a forward looking indicators like the number of users, email subscribers or customers. This is different to backward looking indicators like sales or profit. Forward looking indicators rise faster and fall faster than backward looking indicators and are therefore a better indicator to track current progress. However a backward looking indicator is better than no indicator at all.
Then brake down that one goal on a monthly and daily basis to make it more manageable. For example, if this week they need to get to 600,000 users and he sees that they’re only at 500,000, he says, “What do I need to do this week to go from 500 to 600? What are the three things I can do this week?”

Jack canfield examples – producing his very first audio program was not only a breakthrough career goal—it became the catalyst that generated $100,000 in extra income per year. Suddenly, as a professional speaker and trainer, he had a product to sell at the back of the room. Soon after, CareerTrack heard the audio tapes and offered to underwrite an entire training program around the material, bringing Jack a substantial royalty. Eventually, Nightingale-Conant heard and reviewed the audio program and offered Jack an attractive contract.

Do what you love that helps others and the money will follow.
Steps To Your 1 KEY GOAL
- Income Target: Take your current personal or business income and multiply it by 10. eg for me $700k x 10 = $7m
- Value Target: Multiple that by 10x and this is the value you should try to deliver to the world. eg $7M x 10 = $70M
- Value Delivery: Brainstorm how can I deliver this much value to the people of the world?
- Heroz
- Successly
- profit.farm app
- Davco Farming mastermind
- Pick One: Select the one that you would most love to do and is most likely to produce the value target.
- Then decide how many users you would need to achieve this?

By focusing on only one goal you increase your chance of success. The likelihood of achieving your goal is inversely proportional to the number of goals you have, square rooted. So focus on only one key goal. This doesn’t mean you sacrifice your health, family, happiness etc. I still have a vision in these areas of my life and do daily actions to ensure they do not slip but they are not goals.
